No baby and a Nyquil

I believe that I have made it abundantly clear that I ADORE my daughter. That being said, last night was soooo good for me.

We dropped Em off at my parents' house at 6-ish and headed to Chili's for dinner courtesy of a gift card that my grandparents gave us for Christmas. You could tell that we were exhausted because I think that between the two of us, we only spoke about ten full sentences the whole time we were out for dinner. Then I decided I wanted some Starbucks so we went there to get something hot since it was so flippin' cold. Armed with my caramel macchiato, we headed to Walgreen's to get some Nyquil. I've had this stuffy head, cold junk for a day or two but couldn't take a Nyquil because I had to get up to take care of Emmy. But not last night!

I got home, soaked in a hot bath, drank my coffee, read a book and took my Nyquil. I have to say, it was a sad date night because we were both in bed by 9, Scott watching bowl games and me reading but it was what we both needed. I was asleep by 9:45 and didn't wake up until around 8:40 today. It was lovely.

But I missed my baby girl! Didn't so much miss changing diapers in the dark in the middle of the night, I must say. But she's coming back today and we're heading to Ardmore with my mother so that makes me very happy. :)

Have a Nyquil happy day!

That's typical of a date for my hubby and me. Oh, we talk about the kids. I'm glad you got a little break. A mommy (new and not so new) needs it every so often (this comes from nearly 18 years experience).

Hope you're feeling better.
