Okay, so today I had another baby shower and it was great. Emmy got so many great gifts from folks I work with so I am very appreciative. Finally the girl has some britches! :) and burpclothes and the jungle fleece blanket I was really hoping she'd get. It's so cute. She also received cute clothes, her bedtime bath, lotion and massage gel (seriously, where were my massages when I was little?) and some of the most adorable hand made blankets and burpcloths you've ever seen. Added to that were some more towels, pacifiers, and her crib mirror. Oh! and gift cards (which I love because y'all, that stroller/carseat combo isn't cheap. lol).
Yippee!

Thank you notes
Okay, so growing up there was one thing my sister and I would NEVER be able to get out of. Thank you notes. Darn it, if someone bought you a gift, you thanked them via the US postal service because not to do so would be a travesty of monumental proportions. My mother called me every day for WEEKS after I got married and moved to Kansas to see if I had sent out my last thank you notes yet. Like I had no reason to be delayed in doing so, I'd just gotten married and moved 300 miles away to set up a new home! :)
Anyhow, it is really bothering me that thank you notes have not yet gone out for the baby shower my sister threw for me last weekend. (the 20th, not like this very last weekend). However, I absolutely HATE going to the post office! And when Scott went to pick up stamps, the kiosk was out and I told him I'd take care of it, which, I of course, did not do. So today I realized that thanks to modern technology, I can order stamps ONLINE! (Can I get an Amen?)
But now, I have to share something with you that I just find completely humorous. The United States Postal Service charges shipping for products ordered on their website. I'm paying shipping for stamps. . . to a government entity that visits my house SIX DAYS A WEEK! Okay, I know that perhaps that's not funny to everyone but it sure as heck made me chuckle. lol.

Baby showers
We are fortunate enough to have two baby showers this week and while I am so grateful for the honor of getting gifts for Emily, I am never quite sure how to act at a shower. I mean, I'm always a little uncomfortable opening presents at Christmas when everyone has something to open so to be the center of attention (which you'd think wouldn't bother me at all) and be opening presents all for us is strange.
Not that I can't get over it! Because to be honest, I don't know what we'd do without all of the things we received at our first shower. It was a little overwhelming but now it's all been washed, put away, and assembled (the play pen got put together today and is ADORABLE!)
Just in case anyone is still looking for something to purchase, I'll include a totally not subtle hint. :) Our stroller/car seat combo is on sale now! It was 199.99 and it's now on sale for 159.99. Emmy's crib bumper is also on sale at PBK. It was 79.99 and it's now on sale for 54.99.

I love baby showers!
Today was our first baby shower and it was WONDERFUL! Scott and I both had an amazing time. Wedding showers are one thing because you're grateful for everyone who likes you and wants to wish you well in your married life, but baby showers have a totally different feel for me. I was overwhelmed by how much everyone showed their love and support for our kiddo who isn't even here. We got bedding, clothes, shoes, toys, more clothes, bath stuff, medical stuff, more clothes, blankets, cute room decorations, and, oh yeah, more clothes. Emily is going to be one stylish kid.
I'd write more but I just got done washing drying and putting away all her new things and finding places for all of her toys, goodies, etc. Emily may be a stylish kid but her mommy is a TIRED mommy!
