Okay, so Tuesday night, I decided to be stupid. lol. I know, you're thinking "just Tuesday? And how is this different from other days?" Shhh.
I needed to make pumpkin bread for our work Thanksgiving party today so I pulled up the trusty old family cookbook and found the recipe. In my search for that recipe, I found about 7 others I really wanted to make as well. Not that I had the energy to do it, nor did I have any business being on my feet long enough to do all of that, but really, since when have I been called the sensible one?
Tuesday night, I shopped for about an hour at the grocery store, then went home and while Scott and my mother worked in Emmy's room, I made:
2 mexican cornbread casseroles (one for dinner that night, the other to freeze for after she arrives),
2 full batches of pumpkin bread (which resulted in FIVE coffee cans of bread and 2 mini loaves),
Harvard beets (cause I just wanted some with dinner)
A full crock pot of Jimmy Dean baked beans (which I made with Blue/Gold Sausage but it's still awesome)
and a partridge in a pear tree. . . no. . . my last item of the night was the broccoli/rice casserole that I pre-made to cook on Saturday for Thanksgiving with Scott's family.
By the time I quit, I was hostile, mean, crying, and my feet were SO swollen. It was ridiculous. On top of all this, you'd think I'd be dead asleep but no, I didn't fall asleep until about 1:30 a.m.
THEN . . .
Last night, I got home and my incredible family were all at my house cleaning. It was lovely. My parents had even bought us a fireplace screen and had the first fire of the season going in my fireplace when I arrived. The kitchen (which looked like a bomb had gone off the night before after my cooking spree) was sparkling and my bed was even made! I have the best family ever. Love you guys!!!
Once they left, Scott and I decided to just kick back and catch up on some Tivo. We watched House (it may just be the pregnancy hormones, but Hugh Laurie is hot), Criminal Minds (as evidenced by the last post), then Scott went to bed and I finished by watching Project Runway and Private Practice. By the time this was all over, it was 11:30 and I was still wide awake. So I headed back into the kitchen and made:
Spicy pretzels
Grandma Dyer's Cheeseball
and Glazed carrots for the Thanksgiving lunch today at work.
When I finished with all of THAT, it was 12:20 and I STILL wasn't tired. So I headed to the tub to soak for a bit and even SHAVED MY LEGS!!! Which equates to winning a medal in the olympics at this point. But when I got out of the tub at 1 a.m., I STILL wasn't tired so I went and sat by my dying fire and read until about 2 a.m. and finally fell asleep. Only to wake up this morning bright eyed and bushy tailed at 6:52. Ahhh, the good life.
All of this was basically just to say "holy CRAP my feet are SWOLLEN!" But then I guess at this point, I will get no sympathies from any of you since I did it to myself. lol.
moved.
