So this week I started my new job. On top of that, it was my first week back at work since having Emmy. I've made it through pretty well. I think most of that is due to the fact that my job is wonderful, my new boss amazing, and my daycare taken care of because my Nana stayed with us all week. She'll be back next week to do the same. That has taken such a tremendous load off my shoulders because I didn't have to deal with what most new moms do in leaving their kiddo with a stranger. That will come eventually because in about a month, all the family favors are done and Emmy has to start daycare. But at least for this first week, I've been able to leave for work and know that she was safe and sound with my Nana, at my home.
I've been listening to my iPod here at the new place and one song always makes me a little misty-eyed. I love it because it's so quiet and sweet and when it comes on at home, I just rock Emmy and sing it to her. I thought I'd post the lyrics here:
They didn't have you where I come from
Never knew the best was yet to come
Life began when I saw your face
And I hear your laugh like a serenade
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
I slip in bed when you're asleep
To hold you close and feel your breath on me
Tomorrow there'll be so much to do
So tonight I'll drift in a dream with you
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you up
As you wander through this troubled world
In search of all things beautiful
You can close your eyes when you're miles away
And hear my voice like a serenade
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough, is forever enough
How long do you want to be loved
Is forever enough
Cause I'm never, never giving you
moved.
